McCall Hiking Club Trail Maintenance Day 2005
Wednesday, September 7, 2005 8:00 am, Rite Aid Parking Lot, Across from the Post Office
THE TRAIL IS ABOUT TWICE AS LONG AS HAZARD CREEK, WHICH WE WORKED ON LAST YEAR, BUT WE CAN DO SIX MILE TRAIL ONE WAY, STARTING AT GROUSE WITH A PICKUP AT FS305, WORKING GENERALLY IN A “DOWNHILL” DIRECTION!!! TIME: WE NEED 14 VOLUNTEERS. PLEASE CALL RENAE (634-2382) IF YOU ARE WILLING TO HELP WITH THIS IMPORTANT WORK. OR, CALL BOB BECHAUD, DIRECTOR OF TRAIL MAINTENANCE FOR THE CLUB, WHO CAN BE REACHED AFTER SEPTEMBER 4, 2005 (634-2655 AFTER 9/4/05 OR LEAVE A MESSAGE PRIOR TO 9/4/05, 720-6986) EACH VOLUNTEER NEEDS TO BRING: - LONG HANDLE PRUNING SHEARS (LOPPERS) CAPABLE OF CUTTING UP TO 2” DIAMETER. WE ALSO NEED TWO SHOVELS AND TWO RAKES.
IN ADDITION, THE SUGGESTED CLOTHING: - LONG PANTS - LIGHT, LONG SLEEVE SHIRT - LIGHT JACKET THAT SHEDS WATER (DEW ON THE BUSHES!) - EXTRA SHIRT AND SOCKS
- SAFETY GLASSES WITH
CLEAR LENSES (NOT A - SUN GLASSES - WORK GLOVES (NOT LIGHT GARDEN GLOVES!!!!!)
